Fold-out Page: Hi everyone and welcome to Part 7 of this tutorial using the musical nostalgia papers created by Natalie Ballard. If you have any comments or questions about what we have created so far, please feel free to contact me via the Plannercraft Facebook Group and please don’t forget to share your work in progress with us.

In the following tutorial, we will be creating the reverse of Page 3 of your tunnel base.
You will need:
- Black card
- Musical Nostalgia Papers
Firstly, make sure your 3rd blank tunnel page is facing you the right way up and right way round. Trust me, it’s easy to get it wrong! Make sure you have already completed Part 6.
Constructing the Fold-out Page
Take a piece of black card and score at ½” and ⅝” fold and burnish both score lines. Next, place the card on the left hand side of the base page, and then measure across and down and cut. Mitre the corners of your page to make a neat edge and adhere firmly. This then forms your fold out flap.

Take a piece of card and score at ½” only on one long side and one short side then measure up to about ⅓ height (or wherever you would like) and cut, then measure across your page and mark where you will fold, don’t forget to add the ½” so that you have the extra to score and fold. This creates the bottom pocket inside your flap. Adhere the finished pocket/flap to your page to complete this stage of construction.

I will be making a fold out booklet to go in this in a future post.
Next, mark the centre of your base card and then score a piece of card at ½” and ⅝”, fold and burnish. Lay this piece at the top of your base card and mark where the centre point is, cut the card and repeat for the bottom. Adhere firmly and make sure the two panels do not overlap.

Making the closure
To make the closure, firstly measure 2 strips of card 5½” in length and about 1¼” wide. Next, score the strips at ½” only on the short side of each piece. Then, fold and burnish and mitre the edges. Adhere one piece to the top edge of your top flap and the other to the bottom edge of your bottom flap. Ensure that these two pieces line up when you overlap them as they will hold the closure mechanism. To make this, take 2 pieces of card the size of your quote or image and glue down the left and right hand sides only to give a small tunnel effect and adhere your chosen image to this.

Decorating the Fold-out Page
Now cover your page in your chosen papers and this page is now finished!

See you all next time for part 8! Take care everyone. Lynda xx
